How do Elements work?

Description

Elements are the individual units of data that make up the most fundamental information for a game. They can contain a whole bunch of different kinds of information, but cannot be sold.

Examples

A paragraph about how range works, a melee roll, a switch to equip a set of armor, a picture of a map.

Traits

Traits for all Sections

  • Elements cannot be sold as individual products on the marketplace.

  • Elements do not contain any deeper material.

  • Elements cannot be imported.

Unique Traits

  • Text

    • Text elements have a header.

    • Text elements have a body.

  • Widget

    • Widgets can be interacted with outside of edit mode. 

    • Roll

      • Roll widgets have a roll preset for any kind of roll played in a game.

      • When viewing roll widgets, players in a game can tap the dice icon to initiate a saved roll.

    • Toggle

      • toggle widgets have an on state which can have a customized name.

      • toggle widgets have an off state which can have a customized name.

      • When viewing toggle widgets, players in a game can tap the button to turn on or off the button.

      • When a toggle is listed as the first element in a Piece, it will display in the Quick Data area of the Piece as a toggled on or off icon depending on the state of the toggle.

    • Range

      • Range widgets have a name

      • Range widgets have a name for the current value which can be customized (like "Available HP")

      • Range widgets have a name for the maximum value which can be customized (like "Arrow Inventory")

      • Range widgets have a minimum amount

      • Range widgets have a maximum amount

      • Range widgets have a step amount

      • Range widgets have a current amount

      • When viewing range widgets, players in a game can tap the plus or minus buttons to increase or decrease the current value in the range.

      • When a range is listed as the first element in a Piece, it will display in the Quick Data area of the piece as a donut chart.

  • Stat

    • Stat elements have a stat figure. This can be a number, or any other string of data.

    • Stat elements have a name.

    • When a Stat is listed as the first element in a Piece, it will display in the Quick Data area of the piece, showing whatever the stat figure is as long as it is 4 characters or less.

  • Image

    • Image elements have an image.

    • Image elements display images inline using the maximum width available.

    • Pixel dimensions: 494 px wide
